Abstract
The Argentine composer Luis Zubillaga (1928-1995) wrote the symphonic work, Ongilash, in 1968. The original score has multiple influences and connections: the music of George Gurdjieff, Morton Feldman and Kryzstof Penderecki, the reading of a poem by Ranier Maria Rilke and the first word pronounced by the composer's son. The British Premiere of Ongilash was presented by Filmarmalade and given at the Sluice Artfair on 15th October 2015 at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, by the London College of Music Camerata in partnership with the English Chamber Orchestra Ensemble and conducted by Peter Rudnick.
