Abstract

The book (written in Italian) investigates childhood as a central theme in Spielberg's cinema. The origins of this consistently present theme are firstly traced back to the director's biography and analysed as to the influence of Disney's version of Pinocchio and Barrie's Peter Pan books. Then, prominent child or child-like figures in Spielberg's cinema are interpreted in the light of the Jungian 'Puer Aeternus' and Giovanni Pascoli's 'Il Fanciullino'.
