Abstract

In this seminar session, Serena Braida will delve into her developing doctoral research project, which centres on her current writing practice and explores the interrelations between language, writing, and the body. How do expectations surrounding vocal identity, authenticity, and agency shape artistic practice? What occurs at the intersection of linguistic and cultural identities? And how might this very juncture foster the emergence of innovative practices? Serena Braida will share original auto-translated works through a live bilingual poetry reading. She will explore questions surrounding the multiple manifestations and intersections of the poetic and political self, as well as embodied knowledge in writing and speaking.
