Abstract

Commercial recording of Passion Symphony for organ solo in five movements. Large-scale work lasting 2 hrs, intended for recital use linked to the liturgy of the Church year. Double CD release, including three shorter works for organ in addition.

Additional Information: To date the work has been performed in its entirety by nine organists of global standing: Iain Simcock, Jeremy Filsell, David Goode, Robert Quinney, David Leigh, Kevin Bowyer, Tristan Russcher, Christian Wilson and Tom Winpenny. Previous commercial CD recordings have been made by Iain Simcock (Priory Records, a live recording of the world premiere in 1991) and Jeremy Filsell (1997, released in 2005). The recording by Tom Winpenny is the first under 'studio' conditions.
