Abstract

The place of online social networking in business is no longer contested or seen as a technological fad. Over the recent years, online social networking services have found successful applications in many areas. While extant literature on business networking is plentiful, the area of information security in social networking context has been largely unexplored. Therefore, it is imperative to close the gap in literature and address the research methods used for analysis of information security in business applications in context of social networks. This paper presents the results of a systematic literature review of applicable theories to help researchers link earlier research in information security and social networking, thereby helping build the foundation for social networking research in management. Future research directions are discussed and offered for discussion to the panel members.
