Abstract

A performance of pieces by Haydn, Debussy, Ravel, Franck and Shostakovich as an impact event as part of the AHRC funded Classical Music Hyper-Production project. The concert involved surround sound mixes and effects processing to present pieces from the classical repertoire in a contemporary, technologically mediated context. This parallels notions such as Shakespeare in Modern Dress productions whereby familiar repertoire is placed in a new light by being placed in a contemporary context.
