Substances can trigger or exacerbate reexisting psychiatric problems and psychiatric symptoms can develop as a result of withdrawals after drug and alcohol intoxication. This article provides a brief account of how the Substance Use and Misuse team at UWL has been involved in developing the mental and health and substance misuse workforce to better meet the complex needs presented by people with co-morbird mental health and substance misuse problems.
