Abstract

With a theme of film the EP takes in a range of cast members - The Regular DLab team of Fellow Coal Porters stalwart Paul Ftizgerald with some stellar steel guitar work, mallets and maracas in the boot from Gary Smith Lyons and sinuous lows from Scot II AKA Glenn Lamberton

Brother is a reworking of an early outing (call it A film school in-take) where NB takes a Link-Wray style riff and has old Scottish compadre Billy Muir pin it to the wa’
With a lyric firmly in the Herd territory of brotherly love and male emotion, it’s about recognising vulnerability and the need for a real or figurative arm around the shoulder in difficult times.

There are some choice live shorts from Folkestone’s legendary Chambers club - Frankie Valli’s Northern Soul stomper ”The Night” gets the trem & twang treatment and “The Heart The Mind The Purse" takes a Martin Luther quote as its refrain in a meditation on whether any articles of faith can actually provide salvation - as stated - cine-matic.
