Abstract

A multicultural education system embracing diversity is one that is being encoraged in this, and many other countries. E-learning systems are being increasingly implemented and text to speech elements may be critical in multicultural and special needs environments. This thesis investigates the significance of differences in culture and accent on the usability of text to speech technology as a teaching and learning tool.
