Abstract

This is the famous chariot race from Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (1925) dir. Fred Niblo performed live at the Savile Club, London on St Cecilia's Day (22 November 2023) with piano improvisation (Robert Sholl), sound effects directed by Caroline Ledoux (Lausanne) and a cast of 'horses (including Christopher Hourmousiaz, Anna McCready, Tom Dupernex, and Andrew Probert), and the audience (Turba) going in for good measure.
