Abstract
This study examines the relationship between work–life balance (WLB) and job satisfaction among members of the disciplined workforce, a group often exposed to irregular schedules, high demands, and structured occupational environments. Drawing on data from 250 respondents employed in disciplined services, WLB was assessed across three dimensions – work interference with personal life (WIPL), personal life interference with work (PLIW), and work/personal life enhancement (WPLE), while job satisfaction was measured using intrinsic, extrinsic, and general satisfaction indices. Findings indicate that WPLE was the strongest predictor of job satisfaction across dimensions, with WIPL also contributing significantly, though to a lesser extent. Comparative analyses revealed that marital status moderated these dynamics, with married employees’ satisfaction being shaped primarily by enrichment, while single employees’ satisfaction was influenced by both enrichment and reduced interference. These results highlight the importance of organizational strategies that foster positive work–life enrichment while mitigating conflict. The study contributes to the literature by contextualizing WLB-satisfaction dynamics within disciplined professions and outlining implications for practice and policy
