Abstract

In Middle Eastern and Arabic context, the family structure is considered a solid foundation of population growth and is essentially considered an integral part of family ties and developments. However, due to the rapid socio-economic and demographic changes in the Gulf region, they have impacted socio-cultural and traditional values of the society. Such changes are also affecting Quality of life (QoL) of elderly living in Saudi Arabia. This study thus aims to investigate the QoL of elderly in Taif city of Saudi Arabia. A scoping review has been conducted during January – June 2023 based on PICO framework tool in which only article published in English are considered for investigation. Boolean operators are used to capture relevant articles and finally 15 articles are selected for further investigation. Data are extracted for each article separately and a data extraction matrix is prepared. The quality of articles is checked by JBI check list tool. All 15 articles are found to be acceptable for analysis. Finally, the results are summarised by a narrative analysis, and important factors associated to QoL are identified.
